Privacy Policy
Effective Date: August 1, 2026 · Hayatulerum
1. Introduction & Overview
Welcome to inMath, operated by Hayatulerum(“we,” “us,” or “our”). inMath is an educational platform available as an Android mobile application and a web service at https://inmath.in.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, process, and safeguard your personal information when you access or use inMath, including our camera OCR equation scanner, step-by-step symbolic solver, AI Tutor chat streaming engine, 82+ calculators, and Mental Math game arena.
By installing, accessing, or using inMath, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information to provide, personalize, and improve the inMath platform:
A. Account & Authentication Data
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, profile avatar URL, hashed passwords (encrypted using bcrypt), and optional Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) secret tokens and hashed recovery codes.
B. Camera & Image Data (OCR Scanner)
When you use the Scan & Solve feature, inMath accesses your device camera to capture images of math equations. Images are transmitted securely via encrypted HTTPS to our optical character recognition (OCR) engine solely for equation text extraction. Images are processed transiently and are not permanently stored or used to train public models.
C. User Input & AI Tutor Chat Messages
We process text prompts, equations, and conversation history submitted to the AI Tutor streaming chat service to generate step-by-step derivations and contextual explanations.
D. Health & Financial Calculator Inputs
Figures entered into specialized calculators (such as age, height, weight for BMI/BMR estimators, or loan amounts and interest rates for EMI calculators) are processed locally on your device or transiently in memory strictly to evaluate calculation formulas. We do not sell or profile your health or financial metrics.
E. Technical & Device Usage Data
We automatically record technical details including IP address, device model, operating system version, app installation instance IDs, language preferences, and diagnostic crash logs via Firebase Crashlytics.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To extract text from equation photos and stream step-by-step mathematical solutions and AI Tutor responses.
- To sync solution history, bookmarks, and Mental Math progress (XP, levels, badges) across your authenticated devices.
- To manage Pro Subscriptions, process in-app purchases, and verify account security via 2FA and recovery codes.
- To send security notifications (such as new device sign-in alerts or password reset links).
- To diagnose technical bugs, optimize solver response times, and improve overall app reliability.
4. Third-Party Services & Data Sharing
We integrate trusted third-party service providers to deliver specialized functionality. We require all third parties to process data in compliance with strict privacy standards:
- Google Play Services & Google Sign-In — Account authentication and app distribution.
- Google Play Billing — Secure payment processing for inMath Pro subscriptions.
- Google Analytics for Firebase & Crashlytics — Anonymized telemetry and crash diagnostics.
- Google AdMob — Non-personalized or contextual advertising for free tier users.
5. Data Retention & Account Deletion
We retain personal data only as long as your account remains active or as required to fulfill educational services.
You have the absolute right to delete your account and all associated data at any time:
- In-App Deletion: Navigate to Profile → Delete Account within the inMath app.
- Email Request: Send an explicit deletion request from your registered email address to support@inmath.in.
Upon account deletion, all saved equation histories, bookmarks, 2FA credentials, and learning progress are permanently and irreversibly purged from our active databases within 30 days.
6. Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K)
inMath is designed as a mathematics reference and learning application suitable for students. However, we do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13 (or under 16 in certain European jurisdictions) without parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at support@inmath.in for prompt erasure.
7. Data Security
We employ industry-standard administrative, physical, and technical safeguards, including HTTPS/TLS encryption for all network traffic, bcrypt password hashing, and optional TOTP two-factor authentication (Google Authenticator, Authy). While we enforce rigorous protection, no transmission method over the Internet is 100% immune from security threats.
8. Your Rights Under GDPR & CCPA
Depending on your jurisdiction, you possess the following privacy rights:
- Right of Access & Portability: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to Rectification: Update inaccurate or incomplete account details.
- Right to Erasure (“Right to be Forgotten”): Request full deletion of your account and data.
- Non-Discrimination: Equal service quality regardless of exercising your privacy rights.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. The revised version will be indicated by an updated “Effective Date” at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
